The week after the RS re-enactment I was sick with a cold that took all of my energy away. Sharing pictures of me sleeping on the couch - probably not a good idea. So the week of March 17-23 was a wash.
The next week I never posted because Kelley arrived Friday night from Mississauga, and Ann arrived Saturday night, so I never got around to posting March 24-March 30. I will do so now.
Kettle Corn, Again? Is it October already?

NO, IT's PRAIRIE GRASS BURNING TIME.
Once a year the acre of prairie grass is burned as a demonstration for the visitors to Nauvoo. Prairie grass fires were a frightening part of mid-west life. This demonstration is very controlled complete with fire trucks at each corner. It took 6 minutes to burn.

And free hotdogs were served.

We said good-bye to the first of our grounds crew - Sister Dare.
|
With some other FM missionaries. Sister Dare is in the front with the FM blue shirt on. I will sure miss her. |
We start preparing for Sunset on the Mississippi.
Sister Whiting is our fearless leader in getting us ready for the director, who comes the end of April. We need to know the words to several songs, starting with a military medley. I didn't know the Coast Guard even had a song. But I do know this one:
Sister Whiting taught us the Primary way. With lots of pictures. It helped. We meet twice a week to sing.
Grounds crew work
And we actually did some yard work - cleaning up this tree that was rotting, so had to come down.
